Hikvision iVMS – 4500 Version 4.2.0 Affected by Malware Notice

Important Notice

Hikvision have announced that their iVMS-4500 (version 4.2.0) mobile phone app that was available from the iOS app store has been affected by Malware and subsequently removed from the app store.

It is important if you h ave this version of the app – you delete from your apple devices.

A new version (v4.2.1) has already been created and is available to download from the app store. Please see below statement from hikvision:

iVMS-4500 Version 4.2.0 Affected Notice

We have recently become aware that our iVMS-4500, version 4.2.0, which was available on the iOS App Store as of September 2, 2015, has been affected by malware. This malware, dubbed Xcode Ghost, may expose basic user information such as application name, installation time, language, and country.
As such, iVMS-4500 version 4.2.0 has been removed from the App Store, it is no longer available for download. It is imperative that users delete V4.2.0 from their Apple devices. We have confirmed that versions of iVMS-4500 prior to V4.2.0 are not affected.

To ensure the safety and privacy of our customers, we have created a new version of iVMS-4500, V4.2.1 and it is available for download on App Store now. We warmly recommend users to update or download the latest version iVMS-4500: V4.2.1 immediately in order to avoid possible safety compromise
